Daydreaming in my mother’s garden, I realised that my mind was traveling between past, present, and future. I suddenly had the intriguing sensation that time stood still. In a lulling slowness governed by patience, the garden appeared to me as a valiant opponent of the frantic pace of our Western consumer society.

Based on this personal experience, One Day I’ll Have A Garden Like This Too is an immersive, multi-sensory installation that examines the temporal expression of gardens and explores the garden as a space for memory, connections, empathy and open-mindedness.

The project aims to slow down the pace of the public and creates a link between humans and nature by awakening, through the senses, the memories that individuals have of their own garden, parks or other moments spent in nature.

Inspired by my mother’s garden, this installation uses the sense of sight, hearing and smell.
